The ACCT, in conjunction with various community organizations and city programs, is involved in many projects that aim to help and better serve our communities. The following are only a few examples:
Community Services Grant
This project facilitates access to services that improve social outcomes for vulnerable, marginalized and high-risk communities. Its aim is the provision of post-settlement services to newcomers who have been in Canada for longer than three years, to citizens, and to the established community.

Community Volunteers Placement
This project places and trains individuals who are on social assistance in job-ready programs to gain Canadian experience. Volunteers are generally assigned placements at the ACCT. Upon completion of their assignment period, they are presented with a letter confirming their participation.
Breaking the Cycle of Violence
This grant is one of the initiatives the City of Toronto provides to engage community-based organizations in efforts to reduce violent and increase safety for the most vulnerable groups in Toronto. The two primary goals of the project are:
- To increase access for clients to information, skills and support that prevents violence and increases safety;
- To increase the capacity of the community to address systemic causes of violence.
Freedom from Violence
This grant is one of the initiatives the City of Toronto provides to engage community-This project is funded for the purposes of outreach for abused women, public education on family violence and initiatives that promote collaboration and/or improved efficiency of service for abused women.
The ACCT has a history of holding educational workshops for women and other members of our community on public education of violence.

The United Way of Greater Toronto
The Family Violence Initiative Project
The aim of this project is to increase awareness about the various types of violence that can be categorized as "family violence", whether the target of the violent act are children, women, or the elderly. It also aims to prevent and reduce such instances of violence within the community.

Ontario Volunteer Initiative
The ACCT encourages grassroots organizations to partner with us in regards to acquiring funding for projects for their community. The Sudanese Community Association of Ontario was granted funding to train 4 women in settlement work to assist them in providing the service to their community.

Multicultural Internship Pilot Program
A program to build the capacity of ACCT to serve youth through providing programs and services aimed at youth of the Arab community as well as to train our youth in developing leadership skills.

Playing With Rainbows
This project is a national play-program for at-risk refugee children. It makes use of a group-counseling process involving play and art to facilitate healing in children between the ages of 4-7 who have been traumatized by the experiences of war and migration. The ACCT is currently involved with this program through one of its full-time employees.
This project is conducted through the YWCA of Canada and CAMH
